The coming week the forecast is for fairly warm weather, but if your from the UK you will find it hot at 26c. It will fall to about 20c at night. Yes, it is bikini weather, but be careful of the hot sun. You could get burnt unless you take care. No point spoiling a good holiday because you are bright red and sore….ok!

A Bed and Breakfast in Killarney
A Bed and Breakfast in Killarney
County Killarney, Ireland is one of the nation’s most charming, pastoral vacation opportunities. The county is remarkable for having a vast national park and an incredibly diverse ecosystem. The county is home to many small villages and towns and is particularly popular with those who want a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay while they explore what Ireland has to offer.
Accommodations in County Killarney include the usual hotels and motels but many visitors choose a bed and breakfast establishment for their accommodations. These establishments are run by independent proprietors who offer the classic “place to sleep and a meal” combination of services that has been popular for literally thousands of years. Some things never go out of style.
Bed and breakfast accommodations need not be luxury priced. There are great bed and breakfast establishments that offer accommodations that are quite affordable. The most high-end accommodations usually feature amenities such as private bathrooms and, in some cases, an apartment that is separate from the main house.
Many of these establishments are located in areas that, while they may not appear on each and every tourist brochure, are well worth visiting in their own right. Bed and breakfast establishments generally advertise their location along with their accommodations. Though you might be visiting County Killarney for the National Park or the famous historic sites, you may well find yourself rather entranced by the environs immediately around the bed and breakfast at which you stay!
Check to see what sort of meal accommodations your bed and breakfast offers. Some offer just what they say: a breakfast in the morning and a bed the rest of the day and night. Others may offer multiple meals, the flexibility to take one’s meals whenever they choose or be of the self-catering variety where some apartments are equipped with their own cooking equipment, allowing lodgers to prepare their own meals. Unless you have very specific dietary requirements, it’s highly recommended that you take the opportunity to have a home cooked, Irish meal, however. You certainly won’t be left hungry after the table is cleared!
County Killarney, because the focus of tourism tends to be around the incredible natural environment, usually has accommodations available at most times of year. Still, it makes sense to book well in advance of arrival. The wanderers of the past may have been able to enter just about any Inn and get a room and a hot meal. Today, tourists tend to be more well organized and relying on having accommodations when you haven’t made reservations in advance may work against your best interests. Especially if you happen to be visiting the more heavily-trafficked areas of the county, such as near the National Park and the MacGillicuddy mountain range.
Visit County Killarney for the incredible scenery and make sure you get the best in accommodations while you’re there. Even if you’re on a budget, you’ll get more for your money at a bed and breakfast than anywhere else.

Tips On Hiring A Rental Van In Ireland
Tips On Hiring A Rental Van In Ireland
If you’re away in Ireland for a while and want to rent a van, a rental van is great if you’re travelling from town to town. You may find yourself driving over some rough and bumpy roads as you drive from Dublin and further south into County Cork, so a few tips should make your journey easier.
Picking Up Your Van
If you have been planning your trip for a while then it’s likely that you may also have booked your van rental before you travel. It’s great to know that you can travel straight to the rental company to pick up your vehicle. If you normally drive a car then a van may take a bit of getting used to, if only for its extra size. Make sure that you read all the documentation carefully so that you know what you are covered for in the unlikely event of an accident. It’s a good idea to let the company’s attendant talk you through the vehicle and perhaps give you some idea of what might be new to you. Just as with any journey you might make, check that you have plenty of petrol in the tank before you take off. Some companies rent their vehicles out with a full tank of petrol while others do not, so check that out before you drive off.
Before you leave the rental company’s grounds, make sure that the mirrors are well positioned for you to have the best possible view from both sides. There is probably no rear window, so you have to be twice as vigilant with the wing mirrors. You probably have an itinery sorted and accommodation booked already but it is a good idea to stop and get a local map whenever you enter a new area. Some parts of Ireland are not that easy to get around if you are new to it, so don’t be afraid to stop and ask the locals for advice. Take note of weather forecasts on the radio, if wet weather is predicted then you should be more careful than usual when you are driving a strange vehicle along unfamiliar terrain.
Keep a close eye out for low bridges and narrow roads especially as you are driving a van. Make sure that you know the height of the vehicle before you leave the van hire company and you won’t make the mistake of trying to drive under a bridge without enough headroom. Drive at a safe, steady speed, and be especially careful when driving through rural areas. There is always the chance, with any rural area, that there could be animals straying across the road.
Take extra care when driving along winding roads, you may be able to take a bend sharply in your car, but you have to take a more measured approach in a van because of the extra size and weight. If you have a passenger and you need to reverse into a hotel car park, then have the passenger get out and guide you as the van will likely have more blind spots than your car. Be sensible when driving a rental van and you should have an enjoyable trip in the Republic of Ireland.

Question by Fiddy Pence: BBC News weather forecast on tv?
Why don’t they show the weather for the Republic of Ireland? now I know that its NOT part of the UK but it looks strange for them to pan over the island and just show the weather for Northern Ireland, as if the weather just stops at the border. I remember years ago on the older format that they used to include the whole island so did enough paddies call in complaining about it or something?
I’m not moaning about it or getting anything for free I live in NI and pay my license fee like everyone else. And the BBC channels,ITV,C4 etc are widely watched in the Republic of Ireland.
